I was awarded the Army Commendation MedalSgt. Thaddeus Harrington, 29th Combat Aviation Brigade Public Affairs, was awarded the Army Commendation Medal today April 19, 2011, by Maj. Gen. James A. Adkins, adjutant general of Maryland, for outstanding work while assigned as a full-time public affairs specialist with the state Public Affairs Office.
The citation reads: “FOR EXCEPTIONAL MERITORIOUS SERVICE TO THE MARYLAND NATIONAL GUARD AND THE STATE OF MARYLAND.  SGT HARRINGTON IS A DEDICATED NONCOMMISSIONED OFFICER WHO HAS DEMONSTRATED THE UNIQUE ABILITY TO PLAN AND EXECUTE ANY DEMANDING MISSION OF THE PUBLIC AFFAIRS OFFICE AND MEET THE CHALLENGE OF TODAY’S MODERN MARYLAND NATIONAL GUARD.  SGT HARRINGTON’S LEADERSHIP, OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE AND SELFLESS DEVOTION TO DUTY IS IN KEEPING WITH THE FINEST TRADITIONS OF MILITARY SERVICE AND HIS ACTIONS REFLECT GREAT CREDIT ON HIM, THE MARYLAND NATIONAL GUARD AND THE UNITED STATES ARMY.”
